What is the best Family Spring Break Vacation close to Georgia?
We have two adults and 3 childrens (girls ages 10, 7 and 1 year)
Savannah, GA would be my choice. It is my favorite city in the world. There is a beach nearby at Tybee Island and it is a beautiful city. There are great shops right along the river on River Street. Fabulous food too! All of the squares are beautiful, especially in the spring. There is shopping all around the downtown area. If you like beach activities, there are lots of things to do on Tybee. You have every type of beach activity, beach stores and just playing on the beach. There are great parks in Savannah, they have a minor league baseball team and a lot of cool tours. I don't know if your girls are Girl Scouts, but it is the home of the Girl Scouts and Juliette Gordon Lowe's home. There is also an old civil war fort located on the road between Savannah and Tybee. You can spend the day there exploring the ruins and visiting the site. I highly recommend this beautiful and historic city!
