More Great Information on Cloak Pattern:
Are there any good, simple cape/cloak patterns?
I'm trying to find a pattern where you can make a cape out of a sheet, or just a pattern for a cape in general. Like a witch's cape for a Halloween costume, or maybe even some kind of a cloak.

These three cloaks all hang and move differently and are of slightly different degrees of sewing difficulty. The first is probably the easiest to sew but doesn't hang very well -- sort of Superman cape-ish. Semicircular cloaks (#2) hangs well and is probably what most people think of when they hear "cloak" -- it's also the "Jedi cloak" with the addition of a hood, a la Moroccan burnoose. The opera cloak (#3) is comfortable to wear and rather Victorian in appearance, but I don't care for the way it hangs... it lacks the movement of the semicircular cloak.
You may run into references to a Kinsale cloak... tres romantic and not something you want to sew as a first timer. The hood attachment is painful. Literally.
