Sewing Question - Has anyone made the Pirate Costume Simplicity Pattern # 4923?
I'm struggling with the ruffles on the sleeves and the directions. I've pulled out my stitches twice and am working on a third time. I know I'm missing something probably very simple, but it's driving me crazy. If anyone can offer any assistance, I would soooo appreciate it.

Well I don't have the pattern, but if it is a straight "ruffled edge sleeve"....you gather up the ruffle first and "fit the edges back to back to the sleeve...drawing up your gathers in the ruffles until it totally fits. You can do this by pinning it in even spots, then gathering in between so it fits smoothly. you can pin it in place and stitch and pull out pins as you go, or you can baste it all smoothly along the stitching edge. ( it is the front side of the ruffles faces the front side of the sleeve....). Does that help at all?
