what are some good types of material for making skirts?
i don't know why but i decided i want to make a skirt for my girlfriend.i have no prior sewing experience but I'm pretty good at just winging things and ill be willing to put time into it.i plan on making a flare skirt maybe knee length either a little above or a little below. i was wondering what would be some of the more comfortable fabrics to buy? thanks in advance
Cotton - it's probably the easiest to work with for a first-timer, and it's comfortable. I strongly recommend buying a pattern. I'm a wing-it type, too, but sewing is harder than you might think. Especially if you're going to put in a zipper, which I recommend. Because elastic waistbands are just not flattering.
Good luck!
