And let me tell you, they looked stellar.

Expanding my drums, where should I start?
I recently bought a Sabian X-Celerator 14" Hi Hat (Top and bottom) and I love it. Right now I've got an XS20 16" Rock crash, and an XS20 20" Medium Ride (it was a gift, other wise I would have gone with a heavier one 
) Now I can't decide what would give me more variety, an additional crash (Lower pitched, preferably 18") or a 14", 16", or 18" China cymbal. I want to buy another cymbal (and stand) but I don't know if I should start with a china or another crash. Every song I play to has multiple crash cymbals, hell every song I know has multiple crash cymbals, even that electronic stuff has different pitched cymbal stuff, and another crash would make covering stuff sound better, but a lot of songs have china cymbals too, I could get away with hitting a larger crash instead of a china and it would still sound good, but meh?
So what is better to start off with. I play modern rock, and classic rock. But I also try to play different stuff sometimes like Bob Marley and some Jazz music.
i dunno, if i were you id grab another crash. personally id go with an 18". thats actually my current setup: 13" hats, 16" and 18" crash, 20" ride. i thought about a china cymbal for awhile, but there are things you can do to mimic the sound. using the large crash in place of a china is actually not what youd want to do. chinas, although large, have very short sustain. therefore, a smaller cymbal or a quick crash would be more similar than a larger crash with a long sustain. you could even throw in a splash in place of a china. or what i like to do a lot is smash the open hihats, it kind of gives you that trashy but short sound you're looking for. i honestly believe youd have a more versatile kit if you got another crash. it will round out your sound a little more and you just need to experiement with using those current cymbals to give you the effect that you perceive from a china. it can be done, and it can be done well!
