Should I let him go?
I am in love with a gay man. His name is not important. He is wealthy and famous and very good looking. He is 20 yrs older than me. I only started to realize what love was with this man. I want him to be happy even if it means I would not be aloud to love him the way his boyfriend/partner does. I love him so much that I would give him anything in the world to make him happy. He makes me feel safe. I see beyond his finical status and fame. I have commited myself to this man with my heart, sole, mind and there is nothing more that I can give. Most people try to persuade me to forget about him. When you truly love someone you don't forget them. I stand behind no matter what. When he came out publicly I did not stop loving him. My question is should I let him go and forget him? He is 48 headed to 49 and I am 28 headed to 29. People say we are like Will and Grace.
I would say "not" to let him go. Maybe he will fall in love with you as well. Why not? To me, if he is exclusively gay, then 'you' would not have these kinds of feelings for him; so maybe, he has some heterosexual leanings.
At least, for now, it does not sound like you are ready to leave him. I think he loves you also; and this is a beautiful description of love you gave.
Have you talked about your feelings with him? I also know that eventually, if he does not start to love you, then your love for him will change, and you will be able to move on.
Best.
