Should variations of a clothing design be shown in a portfolio?
Well at the moment I am working on a jester costume, and Ive been thinking about it for quite some time and pretty much have exactly what I want figured out in my head. However, end of next year I will hopefully be attending a costuming course at uni, and part of my entry requirements is a portfolio.
So, I am going to draw out and such my jester costume as part of my portfolio. But with such a costume, there are so many variations, for example the makeup. Now Im already pretty set on what make up I want to do, but would it be beneficial for my portfolio to draw in other ideas?
Also, will stuff like historic notes, photo references etc, count for anything generally in a costume portfolio?
Thanks for any help
Generally in a portfolio they just want art work and if they ask questions ,you should have the answers and not have them read what you wrote. They want to hear it from you off the top of your head. And a portfolio should also contain different forms of art not just designs.
