How can I alter store-bought jeans that are too wide at the hip & leg?
I am short, hardly have any butt & my legs are thinnish. These have the usual extra bulge built in on the side hip for women's jeans (for saddle bags) that I don't need, + they sag in the seat + the legs are too wide making me look even shorter & chubby. I know, I should have bought these stretch jeans a size smaller. Too late now. I alter all my pants patterns so that the back seat, leg & crotch area is almost the same as the front, but don't know how I alter store bought pants to create the same effect. I tried taking them in along each side seam, but that didn't work as they still sag under the seat in the back. Tips most welcome ;o)
taking in the crotch is a pain in the ass, its so hard, you going to have to lower the front as well, to lower the back, go up the left leg, up the crotch (thus lowering the rise) and angle the sewing machine to get as much of the butt as you can in, then go down the right leg. or take them to the tailor, they have ways that probably work better than that.
