How To Select The Perfect Memory Book by Sophia Ton
Some say that perfection is in the eye of the beholder. However, with regards to memory books, there are a few tips that can sure help with the selection of the perfect one.
One Size Fits All Not here! Find one that suits your style. Are you an avid collector needing lots of writing and photo space as well as space for gluing old greeting cards, postcards and whatnot? If so, either find a large memory book, like a 3-ring binder style with pockets. Or choose multiple-memory books like maybe one for writing, one just for photos and a pocketed binder for the bigger items.
Compliment Your Style If you are not a gold and glittery person, don't choose a memory book with that style. Instead, check out country style patchwork-themed pages and cover, for instance. Or choose pastels or polka dots or beach scenes...but the picture?
Budget Madness Don't break the bank on this book. Select a memory book that you can write in anywhere, any time...and use a lot...and not have to worry about getting tiny stains on it while you're drinking coffee and filling in pages. You want a fun time associated with the memories, not stress and agony that will hinder your even completing the thing.
Options Select a book that has options important to you, like room and pages for photos, lines for writing or spaces to glue lined paper, blank pages for special occasions, pockets for memorabilia, etc.
Creative Cover Ugly is as ugly does, so don't get something no one wants to look at on a coffee table. If necessary, add Your Own book cover.
Unique If you are truly striving for your own publication, research how to make your own memory book, taking notes on:
- binding
- page sizes
- number of pages
- cover choice (some places have their own images you can use; others charge to use your photo for a cover)
- shipping and handling charges
- estimated time to publish and ship to you
Accessorize Make sure your choice of book allows for what you want to do, like keep it in a living room with coordinating photos, vase, etc. You don't want a loud pattern in a soft room, for example.
Don't be afraid of making a mistake! Beauty, like perfection, is in the eye of the beholder. You can always take your content and revise your memory book!

If I paid for a pattern, can I sell the finished product?
I bought a knitting/crochet pattern book and bought a couple of patterns online also. I was wondering if I made stuff from this would I be able to sell the item once I've finished making it?
As long as it's not a licensed character or team logo, etc.. you will be fine to sell them. Just finished item, not the pattern itself.
