What's the point of being friends with a girl if you're a guy?
Common Occurring Pattern:
Boy likes girl.
Boy tells girl.
Girl wants to just be friends.
Boy says o.k but frequently still has feelings for the girl.
I don't understand what girls think can be accomplished by being friends. First of all, how can the girl and guy be friends. The guy probably still likes the girl and how are they friends anyways. Usually all they do is talk once in a while. That's not being a friend...
My question is:
1. Wouldn't it be better for the guy who has a crush on the girl if the girl just started ignoring the guy?
2. Are there any guys who find girls to better 'friends' than guys? This may sound mean but I mean both sexes have different interests anyways.
Aurora:
I'm sorry but I'm frustrated. Next time don't answer if you're not going to give an answer to the question.
A lot of girls who aren't "girly-girls" find guys to be much better friends. I mean, I do. And let me tell you, my boyfriend was not happy about this, and I for some dumb reason just detached myself from all my guy friends, for him. It SUCKED. Now I'm doing everything in my power to get my guy friends back, cause I miss them!
Girls like me find it great to have guy friends. I don't really hang out one-on-one with guy friends I used to have a thing for, but I can talk to them online and hang out in groups and it's not a problem.
More directly though:
1. I guess it'd be more logical and efficient for the girl to do that, since it'd save him a lot of wasted time and energy but... we're girls. Emotion trumps logic in this situation, and guy friends make us happy :
2. n/a I'm a girl.
