What kind of knitting stitch is this?
I am thinking of uying this pattern and would like to know what kind of stitch it is. I dont knit and would like to look it up on youtube to see if I can do it before I buy the pattern.

Looks like garter stitch to me, and it's about as basic as you can get; in fact, it's usually the first stitch new knitters learn. You make it by knitting every row. The reason it looks so different (aside from the angle in the photograph) is, as the other answers said, because the needles used were much bigger than what would normally be used for that size yarn. It gives a more lacy, open effect which can be really attractive, especially if the yarn is a bit fuzzy.
