A hanging mistletoe has also become a popular novelty Christmas decoration because of the "fun" and popular belief that if two people meet under a hanging mistletoe, they should kiss one another, given that one is a man and one is a woman. This tradition originated in Scandinavia where the presence of a mistletoe as a "plant of peace" was used to make warring factions declare truce and make spouses who are in a bitter fight or quarrel kiss and make-up.
Another decoration that gives more vibrancy and perhaps the most meaningful recognition for the true meaning of Christmas is the Nativity Scene. The Nativity Scene is an inanimate representation of how Jesus Christ was born into this world as a man. Together with His parents Mary and Joseph, the Nativity Scene decoration also include recognizable characters like the Three Wise Men, and other extras such as the number of shepherds and their animals, usually sheep, donkeys and cows.
