Wages Campaign on the Box by Michael Hewitt-16825
FootballersWages.com, the campaign set up to lobby for a salary cap and a fairer deal for fans, has received national television coverage after spokesman Michael Hewitt appeared alongside super-agent Sky Andrew on Setanta Sports News.
The sports news channel ran a debate on whether footballers were paid too much money and Michael, wearing a specially commissioned www.footballerswages.com t-shirt, outlined the feelings of ordinary football fans everywhere; that footballers' wages are simply too high and unsustainable for the vast majority of clubs.
Michael held his own against Sky, who represents top Premiership footballers including Sol Campbell, Jermain Defoe and Jermaine Pennant.
Michael said: "It was a great experience and further evidence that the campaign has really resonated with football fans, not just in the UK, but across Europe as well. Our petition has been signed by supporters in Germany, Italy, Spain and Denmark, and we hope this exposure on Setanta Sports News will allow us to reach even more football fans."
The campaign believes that a continent-wide salary cap will not only make European leagues more competitive, ending the domination of the elite clubs, but also give real football fans the opportunity to watch their team.
Many supporters are being priced out of the chance to watch their favourite club, with season tickets for some Premiership teams topping 1,500. The average top flight player would earn that amount in less than a day.
Michael added: "Salary caps are already used successfully in the USA, Australia and in other sports in the UK. This has helped to keep ticket prices within reach of the average family and bring greater competitiveness and unpredictability to the respective competitions. We see no reason why a UEFA-imposed salary cap cannot work in football either."
The campaign calling for the introduction of a salary cap into football at www.footballerswages.com has received massive worldwide support since its official launch.

If you are serious about your band, don't use a free online site. They are all generic and template looking and will give your band a bad look. People don't want their first impression to be a free logo. I am a freelance graphic designer and could do one for you. Contact me if you're interested.
