What is an unlined coat?
I am looking at coats online, I found one I like that says it is unlined. What does this mean? My concern is that it may mean the coat is thin and maybe more for fashion than warmth.
A coat without a lining.
Lining means that the whole coat has an internal 'inner coat' made of slim shiny fabric. This is to prevent the itchy fabric (typically wool) from touching your skin, and your skin oils from touching the wool coat. The best linings are acetate, cotton or rayon.
The worst linings are polyester and nylon. They are rabbidly itchy and make you sweat. You should contact the store's c. service and ask what it's made of. If it's those 2 you should pass. IIf it's unlined then you're good!
