âVintage buttonsâ, giving the perfect touch! by Spinsters Emporium
Today Iâve impressed myself beyond belief with my crafting goodness! As it is motherâs day soon, I feel itâs about time I made an extra special effort for my mother bear. Iâve been brainstorming ideas all week, and failing miserably. And then One Day last week I was customizing the vintage buttons on my cardigan, when I began to think of the beauty of the gold vintage buttons, and then that was it, it hit me! I had the idea of making something handmade and truly individual, and so I came to the idea making her a vintage gold button necklace. I couldnât believe Iâd thought of something so quirky, retro and special just like that! I mean it really is so simple.
So once Iâd gotten the chance I began the wild goose chase, searching for these retro buttons, and because I really wanted them to be authentic, Iâd gone to town and back looking all over for them, I searched high and low for glass buttons, vintage buttons, gold buttons, military buttonsâthe whole lot! But no such luck. Was it really too much to ask?
Anyway, so I finally discovered the online company Spinsters Emporium, where I managed to order all of the vintage gold buttons, glass buttons and retro button. I was really impressed by the fact that everything I wanted was right there! It offers a wide range of everything crafty you could possibly ever imagine, from sewing patterns to vintage fabrics. I was really happy with their collection of vintage buttons and the craft packs that Spinsterâs Emporium had to offer. I even bought myself a âbutton itâ pack to make myself a little something, when I received my âbutton itâ pack, I was happy to read that each and every single one of these fabulous vintage gold buttons had individually hand selected.
I might not just stop at my mum this year, after discovering this wonderland of retro goodies Iâm already planning a vintage patchwork quilt for my grandmotherâs birthday. When I was young she taught me how to sew my buttons back on, and since then Iâve never stopped sewing. I think this would be the most ideal present for her, with the vintage buttons embellished within the retro quilt, It will be a lovely way to remind her of how grateful I am of her dressmaking knowledge sheâs shared. And if sheâs not completely happy with my efforts of a vintage patchwork quilt, Iâm sure sheâll appreciate one of the craft packs.

Where can I obtain a vintage pattern for women's pants (denim work pants)?
I have a costume party to attend in August and would like to make myself a pair of 1930s looking denim work pants. It is not really appropriate to just wear a pair of today's jeans.
Does anyone know where I could get an old pattern or an old-Style Pattern? Thanks for your help!
