Is it true that women's clothing sizes have gotten bigger recently?
I'm a size six by today's sizing. But I had a vintage skirt from the '60's, labeled size eight, and it was tiny! I could barely fasten it around my waist! What gives?
My theory is that it's a marketing gimmick.
YES YES YES....I was a size 2 and 120 in the early 90s and went up to a healthy size 8. This past year I lost 25 lbs and would say I am a size 4 and weight 133. But I am finding that I have to purchase a 2 at ann taylor. And I have old Ann Taylor clothing in size 2 that still wont fit. I think its because the average size is 10 and women on the brink just wont buy a double digit size but they'll buy an 8, which is a 10 today. Yes, we are fat Americans. And no way am I a petite size 2 at 5'8" 133 I am a medium build size 6 back in the day. But heck now I can say I'm a 2.
