how could i transform the word 'AFRICA' into WEARABLE ART? Please help!?
I know this isn't anything to do with pregnancy, but please read on, will only take a minute
For my school project i am to create a piece of wearable art and the theme i have been given is Africa. I'm thinking around the idea of Tribes/rituals/tattoos/ masks, but it can be anything:
Animals, tribes, westernization, culture, the land, money, politics, government, african art, history... etc.
I like the idea of tattoos ( having a tribesman cover himself in tattoos becoming a sort of "second skin" as he becomes one of the tribes....but i don't know how i could design this!
Trouble is im finding it hard to think of an idea which i could design into a piece of wearable art, not a costume??
Can any of you guys help me? Do you have any ideas?
If this was your topic what would you create that was ambitous and creative!!
Thanks in advance! i really need some help!
lol about pregnancy. But anyways...
find inspiration in their traditional arts and cultures - especially look up things like religion and mythology, and try to emulate their style of portraying it.
To design a tattoo, I say draw/sketch a human figure and then draw what markings they would have.
Perhaps, also, you could try jewelry?
